East Germany Ssh40

Soviet manufactured Ssh40 used by the East German Para Militaries, the transfer translates to "Society for Sport and Technology" which is a cadet type organisation for the Armed Services. These helmets were used in the 1950's and 1960's. This helmet is dated 1956 and is a medium (P-2) size.  (Courtesy: P Thomas Collection)
