M1895 Prussian Pickelhaube
M1895 Prussian Pickelhaube with aluminium bronze fittings, the "Wappen" or frontal plate has the motto "Mit Gott Fur Koenig Und Vaterland" or "With God For King and Fatherland"
All fittings are present and original with the exception of the leather chinstrap. The visor at some point has been restitched but this was long ago.
The stamps inside the helmet "78 B.D III 1916" tell us the helmet was made by Bekleidungs Depot in 1916, the "78"is the Company identity. The "R114" is the Infantry Regt #114 which was part of the 199th Infantry Division.
