US OPFOR (Opposing Forces)
Helmets such as this one were used in war games where efforts where made to ensure that opposing forces would be as realistic as possible. From tactics, through to individual soldier’s equipment. The helmet is in the shape of a standard Soviet helmet; and is made of a molded plastic shell. A standard M1 helmet liner is held in place by two plastic clips attached to the helmet shell with elastic straps. This style of OPFOR helmet dates from the 1980’s.
