Soviet Ssh39
The first of the official Ssh series of helmets. The liner is of leather but had a short life due to unreliability and expense though being of very good quality, it was modelled on the Italian M33 system.
This example retains the original green paint and stencilled red star.
The stamps indicate that this helmet is a size (P-3) large and manufactured at the Leningrad Machine Building Factory in 1940.
